Starting Monday, August 29th from 2pm - 5pm, appointments are available with a dedicated EBRHA resource to help you prepare your forms and application to file a small claim in Small Claims Court for unpaid rent or utilities that exceeds the $10,000 limit.
We can assess which form to use (SC500 or SC100) dependent upon the period of unpaid rent owed to the owner or property management company.

To complete your application assistance appointment, you will need:
- Proof of rent assistance received from a government entity - City, County, or State.
- Contact information for the resident
- Compliance notice listing unpaid rent

If you or your renter feel that you were wrongfully denied assistance and would like to file an appeal, fill out the provided two-page appeal form (below) and send it by email to appealacerap@centrolegal.org.

Our ERAP support team has put together a list of FAQ's for applicants who have been denied eligibility to receive ERAP funds. Please reach out to us at acerap@ebrha.com for more information.
Q: What if my application was denied?
A: You should always appeal. Tenants have 30 calendar days to appeal, even after March 31st, 2022.
Appeals are accepted for these two reasons:

Q: How do I appeal if my application is denied?
A: If your application is denied, you will receive an email notifying you of the denial. The email will include a link directing you to the ERAP Appeals Portal. There you can review a brief description of the appeals process and submit an appeal directly.
Q: Where can I find out why my application was denied?
A: The email notifying you of the denial will provide the reason your application was denied. If you choose to submit an appeal, you can then upload new or different document(s) that may address the reason for the denial in order to support your appeal.
Q: How will I know my appeal was submitted?
A: After successfully submitting an appeal, you will be redirected to a confirmation page and will also receive an email confirming the appeal was submitted. You will also notice that your application status in Neighborly has been updated from Denied to Appeal Submitted.
Q: How do I check the status of my appeal?
A: If you have submitted an appeal, your status will show the appeal has been submitted. Please watch your email to see if there are any questions the team needs answered while reviewing your appeal.
Q: How long does it take to review an appeal?
A: Our goal is to complete appeal determinations within 30 days, however, each appeal is unique and may take longer.
Q: What to do if my appeal is denied?

- Use the ERAP Appeals Portal to submit your appeal (a link should be included in the initial denial notification you received via email)
- Complete an appeal form and submit all required paperwork with the COVID-19 Rent Relief Appeal System (be sure to provide any new or additional paperwork)
