SUPPORT COUNCILMEMBER GALLO'S AMENDMENTS

EBRHA, along with In It Together, Business and Housing Network, and the Housing Provider Association of America have been multiple productive meetings with Oakland Council Members Jenkins, Reid, Gallo, and Ramachandran over the past few weeks to try to amend and clarify the current proposal.

The results of those meetings are amendments that will be proposed by Councilmember Gallo and discussed at Tuesday's City Council meeting. You can read his proposed amendments:

Proposed Amendments to the Eviction Moratorium

These are to amend what was already presented by Councilmembers Bas & Kalb.

What do we want?
  1. END the Eviction Moratorium by May 31st.
  2. Remove the added Just Cause provisions from the current proposal.
  3. Direct City Staff to locate funding to help property owners and non-profit housing organizations that were severely impacted by non-payment of renters during the Eviction Moratorium.
